Make sure to visit FansOfFans weekly as we reveal our NFL power rankings of the best teams during the 2022 NFL season. Today we rank the Top-10 teams of Week 7.
1. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles get the benefit of their bye week here, but being the only undefeated team in the NFL still means something, and here that’s the #1 overall spot.
2. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have looked like the most dominant team in the NFL thus far, sans weeks 3 and 4 (against the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens respectively). The hurting that they put on Kansas City earns them the #2 overall spot, getting revenge for that 13 second debacle last postseason. Now let’s see if they can finally make the BIG jump this postseason once and for all.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
No Tyreek Hill, no problem for the Kansas City Chiefs as number 15 just seemingly has the ability to turn any pass catcher into a receiving threat. Both JuJu and MVS had 100 yard games against the #1 defense in the league, with Kelce coming up the rear with 97 yards of his own. Now the Chiefs get to rest in their bye week, as the test comes these next two games with Frank Clark being suspended.
4. Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have been a very quiet 5-1, but 5-1 they sit at the top of the NFC North, 2 games ahead of the tied 3-4 Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears (with the tiebreaker over the Pack to boot). If Kirk Cousins can keep this up for most of the season, the Vikings might have a shot at making the NFC Championship game in a very weak conference. Or if not, just take pride in being the only competent team in your division of mediocrity.
5. New York Giants
It’s only right that the NY Giants crack the top 5, with a 6-1 record, having beaten teams like the Baltimore Ravens and the Tennessee Titans. The offseason additions of Brian Daboll and Wink Martindale have really steered this team in the right direction, and the return of Saquon Barkley is just the shot in the arm that this team needed, looking like his 2019 form. Who knows if this winning can continue, but with 2 more wins already than all of 2021, let’s just sit back and enjoy the ride.
6. Dallas Cowboys
And rounding out the NFC East on this the Top 10 is Dallas Cowboys. Never did I think there would be a day when 3 teams in the NFC East would make the Top 10 of any power ranking, at any point in the season. And not only crack the Top 10, but combine for a record of 17-3 in the first 7 weeks of the season. There was a fear that going back from Cooper Rush to Dak Prescott would have the Cowboys revert to their old style of play, but it seems the team is perfectly content running the ball and letting their elite defense make plays.
7. N.Y Jets
Speaking of first times for the Top 10 Team rankings, how about both New York Football teams cracking the Top 10 with a combined record of 11-3. While the Jets don’t look as solid as the Giants, their young guys are making plays when it counts, and their young QB is not costing them games this go round. An injury to standout Breece Hall may spell trouble for the young team, but let’s hope the addition of James Robinson from the Jags will help to curb that absence and keep this run game slicing and dicing.
8. Tennessee Titans
2022 seems to be the year of mediocrity in the NFL, with only a handful of teams that look like actual contenders (see Chiefs, Bills, Eagles, and Vikings). You can add the Titans to that list, as the lost of A.J Brown was supposed to be a big hit for this team. Couple that with Derrick Henry looking a bit slower, and this division was supposed to all but belong to the Indianapolis Colts. Well, things took a turn for the worse for the Colts, as they have decided to bench their big offseason acquisition for rookie Sam Ehlinger. Look for another postseason push by the Titans before the keys are turned over to Malik Willis, without the first string benching.
9. Cincinnati Bengals
Finally, the Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase show can start. We have been waiting to see any semblance of the 2021 Superbowl contenders this year, and we finally got it in the form of a 35-17 thrashing of the Atlanta Falcons. Burrow threw for 481 yards and 3 TDs, as Chase and Boyd accounted for 130 yards and 155 yards respectively. And this isn’t some one time thing, the Bengals have essentially been in every game they’ve played, and it looks like they are finally catching fire at the right time.
10. Baltimore Ravens
Honestly, this #10 spot was up for grabs between multiple teams, including the Ravens, the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, and wait for it………………………the Seattle Seahawks. Honestly the Seahawks are probably most deserving, but the Ravens are the only team on the list that have shown the ability to compete with the best of the best, if they learn how to play 4th quarter football. This week 8 schedule will show who alot of teams really are, and don’t be surprise if none of those aforementioned teams even round out the Top 10 next week.
